BOC , Weld Australia and Diverseco have launched Weld Australia’s newly formed Mackay Committee at a technology showcase at BOC Mackay’s Gas and Welding store. The Indian Welding Society, Southern Zone, Tiruchi, will organise an evening course on ‘Welding technology for fresh engineers,’ from August 22 to 27. The course will be beneficial for third and final year B.E. students and final year diploma students. The course will cover various aspects of welding including welding processes, weld symbols, weld defects, basic metallurgy and other relevant areas in welding technology. Expert faculty from reputed organisations will handle the sessions, said A. Santhakumari, Honorary Secretary, IWS, in a press release. So far, the IWS-SZ, has trained over 1,400 students, she added.

The fire broke out on January 20, 2022 at around 06.30 P.M. during installation process of Room AC Indoor Unit (IDU) Assembly Line at PG Technoplast Private Limited (Wholly Owned Subsidiary) Unit-II plant under construction at A-18, MIDC Supa, Taluka-Parner, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra - 414301. The fire was extinguished with help of fire department and was prevented from spreading to other areas of the plant. We are currently assessing the quantum of damages to the plant and property. There is no loss or injury to human life. No major damage caused to the manufacturing facility therein and this incident is expected to delay in commissioning of the new facility by a week to 10 days. As per the preliminary assessment, this unfortunate incident does not have any material bearing on the overall operations/performance of PG Technoplast Private Limited. TSTC Welding Technology Instructor Says Students ‘Progressed Beautifully’

Texas State Technical College Welding Technology instructor Daniel Aguirre has seen his students make remarkable strides over the past 10 months. With six students preparing to graduate later this summer, Aguirre said he hopes the next cohort will find similar success. “I have seen a lot of improvement from all of the students since we began back in August,” he said. “Some of them came in here with experience, and some with none. They have all progressed beautifully in the program. They are not the same students who were here on day one.” In addition to learning different skills, Aguirre said he wants them to learn what it is like to be a welder in the actual workforce. “I want them to know what to expect when they are working in the field,” he said. “Some of them are ready right now to hit the road to a successful career.” Student Bobby Suniga had a goal when he started the program and has been able to accomplish it over the past few months. “I want to be a more consistent welde...
