Ador Welding Limited Spends Rs. 47.45 Lakhs on CSR in FY 2021-22

NEW DELHI (India CSR): In the fiscal year 2021-22, Ador Welding Limited (AWL) took on the noble task of committing Rs. 47.45 Lakhs (over half a million dollars) towards various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This expenditure, which exceeded the company’s planned annual CSR budget of Rs. 47.36 Lakhs, demonstrated the company’s determination to create a significant societal impact and foster comprehensive growth.

The company’s primary objective was to uplift marginalized and underprivileged sections of society and thus improve the country’s Human Development Index (HDI). AWL’s various projects are aimed at promoting education, empowering women, and enhancing healthcare and sanitation conditions in impoverished areas.

A noteworthy endeavor was the Company’s proactive role in enhancing vocational skills in welding and allied fields among the economically disadvantaged, thus providing them with better job opportunities. This was complemented by the company’s drive towards empowering women, both individually and professionally, through various development opportunities.

In a critical contribution towards improving health conditions, AWL implemented initiatives to promote sanitation, and hygiene, and provide safe drinking water to the less privileged sections of society.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, AWL played a significant role in supporting prevention initiatives. It substantially contributed to the “Mission Oxygen helping Hospitals save lives” initiative, procuring and donating oxygen concentrators, supplementing hospital infrastructure with oxygenation plants, and other life-saving equipment during the pandemic’s second wave.

Additionally, the company used Rs. 6.17 Lakhs from its Unspent Corporate Social Responsibility Account (UCSR) towards an ongoing project, reasserting its commitment to responsible spending and fiscal prudence.

In a significant initiative during FY 20-21, the company sponsored vocational training courses on Welding skill development for underprivileged youth. An amount of Rs. 10 lakhs was allocated for this purpose, and the courses were provided by Ador Welding Academy Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. This decision was a powerful testament to the company’s focus on upskilling and empowering the youth.

AWL’s approach towards CSR not only reflected its strong commitment to its corporate values but also its active participation in societal development. Going forward, the company continues to explore new opportunities in alignment with its CSR philosophy and policy, intending to create a lasting, positive societal impact.
